Summer Camp FAQ

A sibling discount does not apply to our Summer Camp programs.

We typically confirm staff in May. Historically, the staff include current (and former) teachers and Afterschool counselors, returning camp staff from prior years, and one or two new staff members from any of our Green Ivy Schools. We select camp staff with the same emphasis on nurturing and health and safety that we use when hiring classroom teachers. We also hire Spanish speaking counselors as our program is bilingual.

Yes, as long as they have completed Kindergarten and/or are entering 1st Grade.

Children participate in camp activities in groups that vary from 10 children to 15, depending on the nature of the activity (e.g., indoor focused activity vs outdoor play).

Every Week of Pine Street Camp ends with a Friday field trip that coincides with the weekly theme. These trips are included in the cost of camp. No, our camp is designed for campers of all levels of experience. Counselors and instructors will meet your child where they are, supplementing Spanish with English whenever necessary. Campers fluent in Spanish and those just starting on their language-learning journey may be grouped together, as this can help everyone's skills grow.

We discourage this, as it is quite disruptive to the camp experience, both for your child and for other children
